Revised list of buildings requiring fire safety certificate

Fire safety certificate to be issued to updated list of buildings under the Gujarat Fire Prevention & Life Safety Measures (Second Amendment) Rules 2021 released by The Department of Urban Development & Urban Housing Department, the buildings which would require fire safety certificate from now are as followed:

(1) All high-rise buildings having a height of 15m & above.

(2) Special buildings like hotels, educational, institutional, business, storage, hazardous & mixed occupancies buildings having a floor area of more than 500 sq mt on any floor.

(3) Institutional buildings having a height of 9 mt & above.

(4) All assembly buildings.

(5) All multilevel car parking.

(6) All hazardous buildings not covered under Factories Act 1948.

(7) Buildings that have an area of more than 300 sq mt of incidental assembly occupancy on any floor.

(8) Buildings with 2 basements.

(9) Buildings having a basement of an area more than 500 sq mt.
