GPCB published the updated list of recyclers for used oil and waste oil in June 2023.
Under the Environment Protection Rules, disposing of hazardous waste must align with the consent granted by the State Pollution Control Board. A highly recommended disposal method is recycling, but it is equally crucial to verify that the recycling agency holds proper registration and approval from the regulatory authority. To ensure compliance, the list of such waste recyclers is frequently updated and made accessible.
When disposing of hazardous waste, it becomes paramount to scrutinize the documentation of the recycling agency involved. It’s important to note that not all registered recycling agencies are authorized to collect, store, or process all types of waste. For instance, an e-waste recycling agency does not possess the authority to handle used-oil disposal.
