The Ministry of Environment Forest & Climate Change has released a new notification regarding draft provisions of the Green Credit Programme Implementation Rules, 2023.
Public Notification and Feedback Period:
Whereas, the publication of the draft notification provided notice to the public likely to be affected and mentioned that the Central Government will take into consideration any objections or suggestions received from any person with respect to the said Notification within 60 days from the date of publication of the draft in the official Gazette.
Scheduled Consideration of the Draft Notification:
The draft notification stated that the Central Government would consider the notification after the expiry of a 60-day period from the date of publishing the draft in the official Gazette.
At the same time, the draft notification outlined the framework for implementing and operationalizing the Green Credit Programme.
Additionally, stakeholders actively provided suggestions and comments on the draft provisions of the Green Credit Programme Implementation Rules, 2023.
Moreover, inter-ministerial consultations occurred, and stakeholders provided suggestions and comments through these consultations.
Therefore, exercising the powers conferred by sub-section 2(iii) of section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986), the Central Government now sets the last date for seeking suggestions or comments as 31st July 2023. This adjustment aims to efficiently implement the final notification for the promotion of voluntary environmental actions.
