CPCB OEMS Certificate Suspension Notice Update

CPCB OEMS Certificate Suspension Notice for Gaz-CEMS and Gaz-SPM

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has announced a CPCB OEMS Certificate Suspension Notice for the OEMS models Gaz-CEMS and Gaz-SPM. As a result, this decision directly affects industries that operate Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) supplied by Advance Enviro Solutions.

CPCB issued the suspension order on 08 February 2026.

What Is the CPCB OEMS Certificate Suspension Notice?

CPCB informed stakeholders that it suspended Verification Certificate No. NPLI CS/CEMS/VC-2025-36, dated 12 December 2025, with immediate effect.

Earlier, CSIR-National Physical Laboratory (CSIR-NPL) had granted this certificate for:

  • Gaz-CEMS

  • Gaz-SPM

Advance Analytik KFT manufactured these models, and Advance Enviro Solutions supplied them in India.

However, the principal manufacturer revoked its authorization on 03 February 2026. Consequently, CSIR-NPL suspended the verification certificate on 06 February 2026.

Why Was the OEMS Certificate Suspended?

The suspension occurred for the following reasons:

  • First, the manufacturer withdrew its authorization.

  • Next, CSIR-NPL suspended the verification certificate.

  • Subsequently, authorities removed the models from the NPL-certified OEMS list.

  • Finally, CPCB uploaded the updated certified list on its official website.

Therefore, Advance Enviro Solutions can no longer use the suspended verification certificate.

What Industries Must Do Now

All industries, State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs), and Pollution Control Committees (PCCs) should act immediately.

Specifically, industries should:

  • Avoid installing Gaz-CEMS or Gaz-SPM units supplied by Advance Enviro Solutions.

  • Check whether already installed systems hold valid certification.

  • Cross-verify the updated certified OEMS list on CPCB’s official website.

  • Ensure full compliance with CPCB monitoring requirements.

Otherwise, non-compliance may trigger regulatory action.

Regulatory Impact on Industries

This suspension notice increases compliance risks, particularly for:

  • Red category industries

  • Highly polluting sectors

  • Plants that require real-time emission monitoring

  • Facilities operating under continuous emission compliance norms

If an industry continues to use a suspended OEMS device, regulators may question the reliability of its emission data. Consequently, such use can lead to violations of consent conditions and additional enforcement scrutiny.

Why OEMS Certification Matters

OEMS certification plays a critical role in environmental compliance. It ensures:

  • Accurate emission monitoring

  • Regulatory conformity

  • Transparent pollution reporting

  • Legal defensibility of emission data

Therefore, industries should always verify the approval status of monitoring equipment before procurement and installation.

Key Compliance Reminder

CPCB issued this notice with the approval of its Competent Authority.

In conclusion, industries must stay alert because regulatory updates can directly affect monitoring systems. Moreover, organizations should periodically review certification status to maintain uninterrupted compliance.
